In 1976, God gave Pastor Calvert visions of Sonshine Evagelistic Center in Ft. Myers, with people around the altar with hands raised, worshiping and praising freely, and also of students in Sonshine Christain Academy. His prayers were dominated by these visions, till he and Sis. Linda surrendered to the call of God to move from Indiana to Ft. Myers and establish the non denominational church and school ministry on the previous 7 acre property on Nuna Ave. in east Ft. Myers. Since then, thousands of lives and families have been helped by the transparent, down-to-earth ministry of Sonshine. In 2001, Sonshine moved to its new 18 acre campus on Palm Beach Blvd. with a fresh fire and a new name, "Sonshine Worship Center". This International Family Worship Center with an Academy for preschool through 12 grade and a wide variety of Other Ministries is marked by its "heart" to give hope and help to every soul it contacts. You'll find Sonshine has a heart for your kids, and the whole family. Sonshine began, and continues to thrive with a "servants heart", to serve you and your family, for Him, Jesus Christ. Our constant goal is to "Shine for Jesus, the Son of God", consequently the name SonShine! Its our desire to radiate Sonshine into your present life, and the one to come, as we continue to Shine for Jesus, the Son of God! We’re looking forward to getting better acquainted!
